The pediatric respiratory care continuum

Our pediatric respiratory care continuum includes respiratory solutions for infants and children (up to 12 years of age).
Hospital areas may include pediatric intensive care units (PICUs), emergency departments (EDs) and general care (including wards).
Resuscitation

The aim of resuscitation is to support effective spontaneous breathing or assist ventilation of the lungs.

Invasive ventilation

Invasive ventilation is a mode of respiratory support that replaces spontaneous breathing in infants and children with an artificial airway such as an endotracheal tube.

CPAP

Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is a mode of noninvasive respiratory support that provides a continuous distending pressure throughout the respiratory cycle to spontaneously breathing patients.

Nasal high flow

Nasal high flow (NHF) is a mode of noninvasive respiratory support that delivers high flows of blended air and oxygen through a nasal cannula.
